Here we present SAC's range of plain theme chess
sets. We also sell the same sets as hand-decorated
versions. Many of SAC's sets depict historic battles,
famous characters from literature or popular figures from
a particular era. These beautiful and decorative sets are
hand-crafted from crushed and powered stone bound up with
pigmented resin. Every chess piece is completely hand made.
From the basic raw materials through to the finished product
every process is carried out by hand. The only exception
is a cleaning and polishing process in which the pieces
are put through special machines. Even these machines have
been developed for particular use in the preparation of
the chess pieces, for, although the pieces are quite durable,
fine details such as noses, horses ear's, swords, daggers
and flag staffs could be snapped of if treated too roughly.
The machines are made to clean these intricately-detailed
pieces thoroughly but gently. Please note: For most
